Knitting the
Cigarette Box:
You’ll
need four different colours:
Black C3 (Because this is only embroidered it doesn’t make a difference what brand)
Gold C4 (This is also only used for embroidery)
You’ll
also need:
To
begin:
First knit the main section of the box:
CO11 (you should maintain 11 stitches on your needle at all times there is no increasing or decreasing in this pattern) and K1 row in C1
Row 2: K1, P1 in C1 switch to C2 and K7, switch to C1 and P1, K1
Row 3: K in C1
Row 4: begin pattern #1 read pattern from top to bottom for this section
K
in stst on first and last stitches on wrong side rows K. Continue in this
pattern throughout the main section of the box.
when
you have finished pattern #1 K in stst C2 for 10 rows
K
1 row in C1K3 rows in C2 (this will create the turn for the underside.
Begin pattern #2 and read the pattern from top to bottom.
Con’t
in stst in C2 for 2 rows, then:
P
1 rowK 1 row
Switch to C1 for 1 row and continue in stst as front of box.
Change back to C2 for 10 rows of stst
Now
begin pattern #1 again, but this time you will begin reading it from the bottom
to the top.
Change
to C1 and continue 1 row in C1
K2

you can do the same thing to the left side of the box.
Finishing:
You
have finished the basic box, now you can sew the loose ends and embroider the
box to your liking. Remember, once you have the basic box down you could do any
type of box with any style that you would want. Remember to knit the cigarettes
to go into the box as well.
